L&R is one of the largest distributors and purchasers of cosmetics in the United States. We now distribute over 40,000 items (cosmetics, toys, school supplies, hosiery, hair accessories, OTC, HBA, and more) through 3 regional warehouse locations in Arkansas, New Jersey, and Nevada.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Accounts Payables and Treasury Manager oversees the Accounts Payables (AP) Department and manages the company’s cash flow and financial liquidity. Reporting directly to the Operational Controller, this role is integral in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable operations while optimizing cash management processes to support the company’s financial stability and growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payables Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the AP Department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Implement and maintain AP policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
  • Review and approve vendor reconciliations, payment runs, and expense reports.
  • Manage company-issued credit cards and compliance with business and T&E expense policies and reporting process.
  • Resolve escalated issues with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Monitor AP aging reports and provide month-end and other ad-hoc reporting to internal stakeholders.

Treasury Functions:

  • Manage daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Oversee the company’s bank accounts, including reconciliation and optimization of account structures.
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly cash reporting to management and lender.
  • Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, including coordinating with cross-functional teams, to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Implement strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risks.
  • Liaise with financial institutions to manage banking relationships.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the AP team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team success.
  • Provide training to staff on AP systems, processes, and policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams.

Process Improvement and Technology:

  • Evaluate current AP and treasury processes, identifying opportunities and leading projects for automation and efficiency gains.
  • Ensure seamless integration of AP processes with the broader financial system.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and present reports on AP performance, cash flow, and treasury activities to the Operational Controller and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards for AP and treasury operations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounts payable, treasury, or related financial management roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, cash management, and financial controls.
  • Experience in the consumer goods, retail, or distribution industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with payment automation solutions and treasury management systems.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems such as Prelude, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite and Expense management software such as Concur).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage and develop teams.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (If applicable)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

WORK SCHEDULE/HOURS

Hybrid Schedule - Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:30PM EST, with variation based on business demands

PAY RANGE: $100,000 to $130,000
